Sensory Friendly Day at TELUS Spark

Experience a sensory-friendly day at TELUS Spark on June 22, featuring a special interactive concert with Dr. Accordion and accessibility-focused experiences throughout the science centre.

Designed for neurodivergent guests, individuals with sensory sensitivities, families, and caregivers, Sensory Friendly Day offers a more comfortable and inclusive way to explore TELUS Spark. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy reduced sensory stimuli, adapted environments, and sensory-friendly programming across the building.

In partnership with Honens, guests can also attend Classical Adaptations: Follow the Feeling, an engaging and interactive concert that explores the connection between music, emotions, and mindfulness. Featuring music from around the world and opportunities for audience participation, the performance encourages guests to experience music in the way that feels best for them.

Whether you're attending the concert, exploring the science centre, or both, Sensory Friendly Day at TELUS Spark celebrates accessibility, inclusion, and the joy of discovery for all.

Guests registered for the concert are eligible for discounted TELUS Spark admission on June 22, allowing them to experience the science centre at a reduced rate.

About the Concert

Meet Dr. Accordion

Everyone is welcome at this relaxed, sensory friendly concert at TELUS Spark. Written by Canadian digital accordion champion Michael Bridge (AKA Dr. Accordion), Classical Adaptations: Follow the Feeling is a fascinating and fun exploration of “all the feels” music evokes. Learn about musical mindfulness while you discover your feelings and paired with music.

You can also join in the fun with polyrhythmic clapping, and take part in a live arranging session where musical decisions come to life in real-time. Featuring songs from Canada, Brazil, Bulgaria (and beyond!), immerse yourself in the interactive, exciting musical world of Dr. Accordion. You have to see it to believe it!

As with all Honens Classical Adaptations concerts, you can enjoy this easygoing and engaging musical experience in whatever way makes you feel best—move, dance, make sound, or simply listen comfortably.
