How to apply

Please apply at any time! Volunteers are typically taken into the organization three times a year (March, June, and September) through the following process:

  1. An online application is submitted here. Selected applicants are invited to an interview.
  2. After interviews and reference checks have been completed, successful candidates are offered volunteer positions. A Police Information Check (PIC) is required for volunteers 18 years and older. Volunteers who turn 18 while on the job will need to obtain a PIC. Instructions for obtaining a PIC at no cost will be provided.
  3. New volunteers attend a weekend orientation session.
  4. Volunteers are connected with their supervisors and schedules are established. Job training takes place during the first shift and volunteering begins! A three-month trial period is a part of every volunteer position.
  5. In additional to regular volunteer duties, periodic calls for special event support will be sent to the volunteer community.

Who can apply

Anyone sixteen years of age and older is welcome to apply! (For summer camp volunteers, we will consider individuals fourteen and older.) Spark volunteers tend to be:

  • Passionate about the place where creativity, conversation, and science intersect
  • Interested in welcoming and reflecting people of all ages, cultures, and orientations
