Can't make it to the science centre? No, problem!

Surprise and delight with some science that sparkles in YOUR OWN CLASSROOM!

Let's face it, nothing shines like students discovering science through hands-on discoveries. That’s why Spark has programs that can be ordered direct to classrooms for an hour, a day, a full week or an entire semester!

These programs are unique opportunities for students to engage with science in ways that will expand minds, introduce career possibilities and create lasting connections.

Please note that the Spark team can only travel within 50 kilometres of the science centre.

Cloudy with a Chance of Science

Got what it takes to predict the weather? In this four-day residency, Spark educators will turn classrooms into meteorological stations! Students will create weather forecasts, explore climate phenomena and learn what they can do to help Earth thrive – all with direct ties to Alberta curriculum.

Ready, Set Robot

Limited availability - book now! Introduce students to the inspiring world of coding and robotics – no coding experience required! In this four-day residency, students will learn about the connections between hardware and software, foundational concepts of coding languages, coding literacy and debugging. Spark’s resident robot dog, Flint, will also visit to celebrate the students’ work! NOW FEATURING A ONE-DAY RESIDENCY, Ready, Set, Code!

Prototype Project

Immerse students in some seriously super science this semester! This ten-week design challenge empowers students to prototype and showcase a science exhibit with the help of Spark Science Guides and local professionals. Students in grades 5–12 will dive deep into the design-thinking process as they explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (otherwise known as STEAM).

Blackfoot Skies Experience

Explore the depths of science within the Blackfoot story of the Wolf Trail, Makoiyohsokoyi.

This unique learning experience begins explores teachings about humility, living in balance with nature, what we can learn from animals, and stories of the sky.

Spark 2 Go

It’s the science centre on a field trip, straight into the classroom! Includes all the bells and whistles from a magic science trunk of gadgets, gizmos and beakers. This is a unique educational experience that closely mirrors what is offered at the science centre.
