It's time to sprinkle some science into your summer. Keep it cool with science this summer because it’s time to discover that anything is popsicle at Spark.​

This summer season is full of anything and everything that will give you brain freeze and shock your system (in a good way). Experience the mind blowing Luminarium for the month of July. A labyrinth of colourful tunnels, and cavernous domes. Spanning 11,000 square feet, this structure is an inflatable installation created by UK-based artists Architects of Air. This is the world premier of Timisien, named after the city of culture in Europe. ​

Fill your stomachs, hearts and minds in August with Dog Days of Summer. Sirius, also called Alpha Canis Majoris or the Dog Star, brightest star in the night sky. Unleash you inner dog lover for a paw-some experience with SuperDogs, tail-wagging science, Flint the robo-dog, food trucks, weird hot dogs, ice cream and fun! ​

Spark is THE place to chill this summer. ​

Luminarium: The Timisien

Located outside in the Brainasium Outdoor Park, Luminarium is an inflatable sculpture visitors enter for an encounter with the phenomenon of light. The sculpture engages the audience into a world of wonder while being moved by the beauty of light and colour.

All senses will be ignited, with a subtle soundscape specifically curated for the Luminarium that fully emerge guests into the experience. Through labyrinthine tunnels and cavernous domes, visitors move in medium and subtle hues. Vivid reflections of colour reflect on the curved walls, creating a world apart from the normal and everyday life.

Please note:

Guests can book a $3.00 timed ticket to enter Luminarium. Capacity is limited and first come first serve.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair accessible. Strollers must be parked in the specified area before entering. No food or drink allowed.

Dog Days of Summer

Don't have a ruff summer...keep it cool at Spark! Learn the science and history behind the "dog days" – to the ancient Greeks and Romans, this occurred when star Sirius appeared to rise alongside the sun in late July. They believed the heat from the two stars combined is what made these days the hottest of the year.

Beat the dog-gone heat during the hottest days of the year by checking out all the super cool dog themed activities at Spark. Daily programming includes performances from Super Dogs, delicious hot-dog food trucks, an adult-only evening centered around the "Games People Play," out-of-this-world ice cream, adorable new items in the Spark Store, talks about the science of K9's and so much more!

Cool Summer Treats!

Don't have a cruel summer, have a cool summer by eating and drinking your way through the new seasonal menu. The summers special ice cream, the James Webb, is vanilla soft serve ice cream poured into a waffle cone, a yellow sugar cookie topper, honeycomb crumble, pink sugar sprinkle and three chocolate Pocky sticks. Named after the James Webb Space Telescope, the most powerful telescope ever launched into space!

Looking for more cool treats? Why not taste the Blue Nebula Iced Coffee or the Milky Way Floats in three fun colours!

    • How much is entry to Luminarium?

      Guests must book a timed ticket to enter Luminarium. Capacity is limited and first come first serve. So, be sure to book ahead.

      Members are FREE.

      Tickets are $3.00 per person.

      For groups of 4 to 6 people, Luminairum is $10 for the group. Additional tickets can be purchased at a rate of $1.66 each.

      Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Wheelchair accessible. Strollers must be parked in the specified area before entering. No food or drink allowed.

    • How much is entry to Dog Days of Summer?

      All Dog Day programming is FREE for member and general ticket holders. With the exception of Spark After Dark, which is FREE for members or $26 for general admission.

    • Is Summer at Spark suitable for all ages?

      You bet they are! All ages are welcome, with the exception of Spark After Dark, which is for adults 18+.
