    • What are Spark Sleeovers all about?

Sleepovers are designed to give kids groups such as families, teams, Scouts Canada and Girl Guides of Canada the chance to experience Spark overnight as a group. Each Group Sleepover includes a Dome Theatre Show, a special morning Live Science Demonstration, free time to explore our Exhibit galleries, a hands-on activity, an evening snack, morning hot breakfast, and free next day admission to Spark.

    • When do Sleepvers start and end?

The Sleepover experience starts at 6:00 pm and ends at 9:30 am the next morning

Sleepover guests may choose to take advantage of free next day admission when Spark opens at 10:00 am.

    • When should we arrive?

Any time after 6:00 pm! Spark will be unable to accommodate group arrivals before 6:00 pm. Groups who wish to enter the Science Centre before 6:00 pm must pay for regular admission.

    • What kinds of food can we expect?

For evening snack guests can expect a variety of pre-packaged snack items such as juice boxes, handi snacks, and granola or dried fruit bars. For breakfast Spark will be serving a hot breakfast of waffles and bacon with a side of yogurt and juice. Note: Sleepover menu may be subject to change without notice.

Allergies: In some cases Spark's catering team can accommodate some special dietary requirements if you contact at least a week prior to your sleepover date. However, Spark's kitchen space does include the use of many common allergens including wheat, dairy and nut products. For guests with severe allergies we suggest bringing a safe food alternative from home. Spark is happy to provide refrigerator and microwave space in this situation.

    • When do you require payment?

A non-refundable 25% deposit is required at the time of booking and payment in full is required two weeks prior to bookings. Spark may be able to accommodate an increase to your booking numbers within the two-week period prior to a sleepover booking.

    • What should we bring?

Spark recommends guests bring the following supplies:

Pillow and sleeping bag or bedding

Foam pad or air mattress (no cots please)

Toothbrush and toothpaste (there are no shower facilities available)

Comfortable clothing and shoes for evening explorations, sleepwear and a change of clothes for the next day

      Flashlight

Spark also recommends guests to mark all items with names.

Please DO NOT pack electronics, curling irons, hair dryers, or snack food (unless you require alternate snack foods to accommodate allergies or health issues)

Coin-operated lockers are available for $1

    • Where do we sleep?

Sleepover guests will be camping out in one of our exhibit/feature galleries at night. Typically, groups will be booked into the Creative Kids Museum, Being Human, Earth and Sky, or one of our Feature Galleries. Once the evening Dome Theatre show has concluded, guests will choose a safe place for their group and set-up their beds. Guests may not reserve specific sleep spots in the galleries before the Dome Theatre show and groups must sleep together to ensure adequate supervision.

    • Do I have to pay for parking during the sleepover program?

Overnight parking is included for the duration of the sleepover program until 9:30 am the following day. Groups taking advantage of next day admission after must pay for parking at the regular $10 daily flat rate.

Parking is included for all Spark Members. Please ensure you have registered your vehicle online.

Parents and guardians who park during regular business hours for pick up/drop off must activate a free 30-minute session at the ParkPlus terminals near the front doors to avoid ticketing.

    • Can sleepover group leaders review the facility before their sleepover?

Yes, upon payment of your deposit, protocol will be shared for how to book your review of the facility prior to your visit.

    • What is your policy on behaviour at sleepovers?

Spark works hard to ensure sleepovers are an amazing experience for each guest. Part of that commitment requires Spark to ensure no participants disrupt the enjoyment or safety of the other guests through aggressive behaviour, bullying, the use of inappropriate language or other disruptive or unsafe actions. Leaders and parents at sleepovers are responsible for supervising the children they are accompanying and all children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult while exploring our exhibit spaces. Should any guests behave in a disruptive or unsafe way at our sleepover program, they may be asked to leave.
