Celebrate Artemis II with a cosmic creation that’s truly out of this world: the Artemis II White Hot Chocolate.

Every February, participating cafés, restaurants, and chocolatiers compete for the coveted titles of YYC's Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate, Most Creative Hot Chocolate and special Cup That Runneth Over Award.

Calgarians can sip a variety of hot cocoas and determine the blend that roasts them all!

The Artemis Il White Hot Chocolate is maple-y white chocolate with a gentle savoury cheesecake vibe, fuelled by real gouda, finished with warm spice and a cloud of maple cream. Topped with gold star sprinkles, a chocolate SLS (Space Launch System) rocket, and a mini shortbread moon. It's going to be gouda! Dip the moon, launch the rocket, and take a sip of this Canadian moonshot moment.

Vote for Spark's Artemis II White Hot Chocolate. Yes... it's white hot!

The Exciting Science Behind Artemis II:

  • Artemis II will be NASA’s first crewed mission of the Artemis program, sending astronauts farther from Earth than humans have gone in over 50 years.
  • The mission will test the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System (SLS) with humans on board before future lunar landings.
  • Astronauts will orbit the Moon and travel roughly 740,000 km round-trip, pushing deep-space systems to their limits.
  • Orion will rely on advanced life-support, navigation, and radiation-shielding technologies designed for long-duration space travel.
  • The mission will validate heat-shield performance during re-entry at speeds of nearly 40,000 km/h, the fastest return ever for a human spacecraft.
  • Artemis II will test communications systems that allow astronauts to stay connected with Earth from nearly half a million kilometres away.
  • The mission’s purpose is to create a durable lunar presence and pave the way for human exploration of Mars*.
