Science School is more than a field trip. Students will experiment, create, and see how science shapes the world while building skills that connect directly to the classroom curriculum.
As of January 2026, TELUS Spark Science Centre is grateful for the support of Canadian Natural Resources Limited for Science School. Science School is a proud member of the Campus Calgary Open Minds community.
Science School is a week-long educational experience where students dive into STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) in ways that are exciting, meaningful, and curriculum-connected.
Students will collaborate on design projects that explore how engineering, technology, innovation, and art come together to solve real-world problems.
Students will test ideas, experiment, and see that trial and error is part of the process. Hands-on challenges build confidence, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills that transfer back to the classroom.
Spark’s interactive spaces allow students to tinker, create, and try new ideas while building skills and confidence in a safe environment.
With support from Canadian Natural, Science School gives students a week full of hands-on skill-building, problem-solving, and curiosity-driven challenges.
Since 1997, Science School has inspired over 19,000 students and 700 teachers across Calgary. Students leave thinking bigger, trying new approaches, and imagining what’s possible with science at the centre.
