Dome Theatre Assistant

Position Description

Featuring an assortment of live planetarium shows and educational and entertaining documentary films, a Dome Theatre experience is a must-do part of a Spark adventure. As a Dome Theatre Assistant, you will help run Western Canada’s largest fulldome theatre by preparing monthly schedules, tracking attendance, and ensuring behind-the-scenes spaces are tidy and organized.


  • Shifts take place during business hours on weekdays (with the possibility of some weekend shifts once training is complete) and are typically four hours long
  • Schedule: flexible based on agreement with the Strategic Projects team
  • Commitment: two or more shifts per month

Key Responsibilities

  • Updating the Dome Theatre schedule in the internal scheduling software and on the Spark website
  • Dome attendance tracking and reporting
  • Organizing and maintaining Dome Theatre administrative spaces
  • Other administration and data entry

Desired Skills and Qualifications

This position is best suited for someone who is:

  • Proficient working with computers and learning new software
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently


  • Mandatory volunteer orientation: March 21 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Current police check (18+)
