Blood, Sweat & Tears… & Cuts & Guts & Severed Limbs

Practical Gore in Film & Television

Ever wondered who makes the blood splatter just right, or how a decapitation looks so disturbingly real on screen? In the world of film and TV, gore is an art form — cooked up by two key players: Hair & Makeup (the masters of bruises, burns, and bite marks) and Special Effects (the pros behind the gush, squish, and splat).

This night of cinematic carnage features two Alberta-based gore gurus spilling their trade secrets. Expect live how-to’s, behind-the-scenes stories, working props you can get up close and personal with, and interactive demo tables where you can test your stomach.

It’s bloody good fun — and definitely not for the squeamish.
