Parent's Corner:

What happens on the first day? Bring your confirmation letter with you and know which camp number your camper is in. We have 6 camps that run consecutively, and more than one camp for the same age group. Please help your camper put on their shirt, wrist band and name tag prior to leaving.

What should my child bring/wear? Please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather! We may run programs outdoors if the weather permits. Please dress for a bit of mess as well, we suggest you bring an extra shirt in case your toddler or child gets their clothing wet while experiencing activities at water tables. You won't need to send any supplies with the Campers, other than two snacks for morning and afternoon breaks, and lunch if you've opted not to purchase Boxed Lunches. If you are packing a lunch for your child, please ensure that it is peanut-free.

Can I send someone else to pick up my child? Parents/guardians are required to have documented the name, phone number and relationship of someone else that will be picking up their camper. Camp staff will not allow an adult that's not listed on the document to take the camper home. We will be verifying with picture ID for all adults picking up campers at the end of day.

Can I pick up my child early? If a parent/guardian requires to take their camper out early for any reason, we require documented notice. Parents/guardians must fill out a form provided by the Camp Coordinator at the Camp Coordinator Information Desk located in the Learning Centre Foyer.

What if I'm late picking up my child?
Please be prompt and give us a call should there be an outstanding circumstance that causes you to be late. Child services will be called if we do not receive notification and a camper is not picked up by 5:10pm.

Do we need to arrange transportation for Camps that involve activities at other locations around the City?
Our teams will arrange all offsite transportation for the Campers, and the cost of that is included in your registration fee.

Why do you need the Alberta Health Care Number? Our primary concern is for the safety of our Campers! In the unlikely event that your child requires medical attention while they are in our care, it is vital that we are able to relay their Alberta Health Care number on to medical professionals immediately.

Are electronic devices permitted at the Camps? We kindly request that all sensitive electronic devices, including mobile phones, iPods, iPads, cameras, and gaming consoles, be left at home to avoid damage.

What if my child is under the recommended age required for the programs? We want to ensure that all campers get the most out of their experience. TELUS Spark Camps are designed and piloted to be challenging enough to engage  the age maximum. TELUS Spark is happy to allow campers to attend any camp provided they turn the minimum age required by the first day of camp.

What is your policy on aggressive behaviours? We work hard to ensure that Camps at TELUS Spark are an amazing experience for all Campers. Part of that committment to you requires that we ensure no child disrupts the enjoyment of the other Campers through ongoing aggressive behaviour, bullying, the use of inappropriate language or other disruptive actions. We actively monitor these behaviours, and after appropriate steps taken with the parent, may request a Camper cease coming to Camp.

Will I be charged for parking when I drop off and pick up my child? The first 30 minutes of parking is free for parents and caregivers dropping off and picking up Campers. All Gold and Charter Members have parking included with their Memberships. Parking is a $5 flat fee for the day.

When do you require payment? Payment in full is required at the time of booking confirmation. Refunds are available for cancellations two weeks prior to your Camp start date. A $25 administration fee will apply.

When should we arrive? Please ensure that the Campers are dropped off promptly. We suggest that you arrive 5 minutes prior to 9:00 a.m. to check in.

Where should we drop Campers off upon arrival? A camp staff member or volunteer will greet parents and campers on the first day of camp, after you know your way during the rest of the week, parents and campers can follow signs which will lead them to the Learning Centre. There will always be someone greeting pre-care campers since the doors are locked in the morning until 9:00 a.m.
