Ignite a sense of wonder and excitement with a Birthday Party at TELUS Spark! With special Birthday Party Packages designed for your guests to embrace the desire to create and explore, you will experience the intersection of science, technology and art in new and amazing ways.
Once you've enjoyed the special programs, take as much time as you like exploring over 120 Exhibits, Drop-In Programs and Demonstrations across four exhibit Galleries, an expanded and enhanced Creative Kids Museum, a Presentation Theatre, Calgary's only HD Digital Dome Theatre (open in Spring 2012), an Outdoor Park and more.

What can you expect when you book a Birthday Party at TELUS Spark?
Each Birthday Party includes a special program hosted by one of our fantastic TELUS Spark Facilitators in your own party Studio where you will also enjoy a delicious assortment of food and beverage.
Birthday Parties are available on Saturdays from $399, and include:
- Admission for up to 12 Guests*: 10 Children or Youth and up to 2 Adults
*Click here for costs to include additional guests. A minimum of two Adults are required to attend each party. - Private Studio Rental (for 2.5 hours)
- Catered Meal (for all Children and Youth)
- Bring Your Own Cake: If you prefer to bring your own cake, we'll happily provide a fridge to store your birthday cake along with all the plates, utensils and napkins you will need to enjoy it. You're also more than welcome to purchase one of our birthday cakes!
- Unlimited access to over 120 Exhibits across four Galleries and expanded and enhanced Creative Kids Museum.
- Unlimited access to live Demonstrations and Drop-In Programs taking place throughout the day. To find out what's on when you're planning to visit, click here.
- Party Hats (for all Children and Youth)
- A special facilitated Birthday Party Program* of your choice:
- LEDs or Stomp Rockets – Recommended for ages ages 5+
- Cricket Light Writer or Duct Tape Builds – Recommended for ages ages 7+
- Toy Mash Up or Make Your Own Headphones – Recommended for ages ages 10+

Package Add-Ons:
- Gift Bags: Send your guests home with a special Gift Bag filled with goodies from the TELUS Spark Store. Gift Bags are $10.00 each or you can also build your own! If you would like a customized Gift Bag, click here.
- Adult Catering: Additional food options are available for purchase both in the Café and from our full catering menu.
- Birthday Cake: Birthday cakes are available from our fantastic catering team. Prices range from $27.50 to $42.50.
Additional Guests:
If you are coming with more than 2 adults, each additional adult will be charged regular admission of $10.95, exclusive of catering. Each additional Child or Youth guest will be charged $25.95. Please note that this is a flat rate for the rental, program and catering and we can accommodate up to 16 Children or Youth per Birthday Party Program.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I bring my own birthday cake?
Absolutely! We are happy to provide access to a fridge to store your birthday cake along with all the plates, utensils and napkins you will need to enjoy it. Please note that we are unable to provide freezer access for ice-cream and ice-cream cake storage.
Is food available for the adults attending the party?
Yes, additional food options are available for purchase both in the Café and from our full catering menu.
Is parking included?
Parking is not included, however the first 30 minutes of parking is free for parents and caregivers dropping off and picking up party guests. Parking is a $5 flat fee for the day.
What's the maximum number of birthday party guests you can accommodate?
The total room capacity is 30 people, however we are only able to host up to 16 Children or Youth in the special Birthday Party Programs included in your package. Additional guests are welcome to join you as you explore the Exhibits and Galleries.
When do you require payment?
Payment in full is required at the time of booking. Refunds are available for cancellations more than 30 days in advance of the event date. An administration fee may apply.
Will it cost less if I have less than 10 Children or Youth attending?
The package rate is set to include minimum fees for space rental, catering and program services. It is a flat rate for all birthday parties up to 10 Children or Youth and 2 Adult guests.
What if my child is under the recommended age of 5 for the programs?
Our programs have been tested and developed for the age ranges specified. We are happy to accomodate those aged four in the Stomp Rockets program, with the assistance of the adults chaperoning your party. For parties of children 3 and under we can offer an alternate painting program option more appropropriate to their learning stage if you would still like to host a Birthday Party Package at the Science Centre.
Please note that we do offer discount rates for groups of 15 or more, although this does not include a private Studio rental, program or catering. More detail on Group Rates can be found here.
How long does the facilitated program last?
Each facilitated program will last one full hour. You will have 1.5 hours in your private Studio to enjoy your party catering, birthday cake and to open gifts!
When should we arrive?
If your Studio booking is in the afternoon, please ensure that you allow ample time for your guests to fully enjoy and experience the galleries and exhibits prior to your booking time! We recommend allowing 1-1.5 hours for each gallery you intend to explore. Learn more about the five galleries and daily events.
If your Studio booking is on a Saturday morning, please ensure that your guests arrive promptly to enjoy the facilitated program in its entirety!
Please ensure that the party host arrives 15 minutes prior to your guests expected arrival time to check in at the Front of House Desk and receive their Birthday Party package.
Where should we ask our guests to meet upon arrival?
Following check-in, we ask that the party host remains in the lobby to greet all of your guests. Together, you will then be lead by on of the TELUS Spark team to your private Party Studio in the Learning Centre.
Can I bring in decorations?
You bet! We only ask that if you are bring in decorations to 'theme' your party that your ensure that you take them home with you when you leave. The party hats, cakes, plates and napkins that we provide are not themed.
Can I just book a room without the Birthday Party Package?
Definitely, however our standard facility rental rates will apply and the Birthday Party Package will provide the most value for you and your guests! Click here to learn more.
Can I bring my birthday party to the science centre without booking the package?
Admission to TELUS Spark can be purchased online at a discounted Group Rate for parties of 15 people or more. Group rates do not include space rental, catering, birthday cake storage, or special programs. Please note that seating is available in the Atrium on a first come, first served basis only. Outside catering is not permitted in the venue. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch, however we can't always guarantee a space will be available in the Atrium for you to eat and open birthday presents.
